Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our New York, New York office.

 

Supporting a portfolio of Global Banking Multinational corporate accounts.  Providing support to the Relationship Management team on client management and business development activities, including but not limited to credit analysis, corridor deck preparation and delivery, client servicing, administration & operational support, coordination with internal & external parties, and focused client segmentation analysis.

 

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with and help coordinate activities of the client service team (across products and geographies as needed) in order to ensure a coordinated approach to enhancing the overall client relationship
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal HSBC colleagues, and effectively manage day-to-day requirements of the portfolio, in the absence of the Relationship Manager
  • Provide general support to the Relationship Manager in servicing client relationships and enhancing income generation
  • Establish strong relationships with key individuals in clients’ management teams, and act as primary day-to-day Relationship contact for operational matters
  • Help identify marketing opportunities, undertake appropriate analysis, and prepare proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services
  • Prepare timely credit applications (including both renewals and new money applications), incorporating high quality industry sector, competitor and client level analysis to support the credit application process
  • Prepare internal approvals required for maintaining ongoing client relationships and specific transactions (including KYC, Credit, senior management and other internal approvals)
  • As required, assist the Relationship Manager in negotiation of transaction-specific documentation
  • Monitor income generation and effectively manage the financial reporting & analysis for the portfolio
  • Contribute to the team meeting specific income targets, to the Relationship Manager meeting individual targets, and develop names on your own as well
  • Source and deliver statistics for ad-hoc MI/managements decks; update monthly, design format and content in conjunction with the Relationship Manager, Team Leader or Americas Head
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter who is able to work independently with limited guidance
  • Ability to effectively handle and prioritize multiple competing transactions / deliverables
  • Ability to establish rapport with members of clients’ management teams
  • Ability to maintain relationships with internal HSBC colleagues (across products and geographies)
  • Ability to understand internal requirements and effectively negotiate with both internal colleagues and external clients (as required)
  • A team player
  • Strong client management and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of the spectrum of banking and capital markets products & services
  • Good understanding of financial & credit analysis, risk management and credit mitigants
  • Good PC and Office skills (particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Prior corporate banking experience a plus
  • Active FINRA series 63 and 79 required. At the manager’s discretion, a contingency period to obtain licenses can be granted.
  • Knowledge of HSBC Group structures a plus
