The Data Architecture Lead will work closely with the Architecture Lead to ensure a consistent and effective data architecture approach is established and followed based on DAO strategy, regulatory expectations, and leading practices. This role will serve as the subject matter expert on data architecture-related topics and work with the Architecture Lead to design, develop, and implement target-state data architecture. This role will also work with the GB/GFs to ensure security around cloud and data sharing. This role will support the DAO by defining meta-model and metadata mgmt. requirements.

Here’s what you can expect day-to-day:

As the Data Architecture Lead, you will represent the DAO in all matters related to Data Architecture.  As the Architecture Lead, you will:

  • Work with DAO functions to design and maintain target-state data architecture, and associated requirements
  • Prescribe the policies, procedures, processes, and controls to be followed and implemented for cloud migration; Support businesses with guidelines and best practices to ensure effective cloud migration
  • Review and provide approval / sign-off on cloud migration based on adherence to policies, procedures, and controls
  • Develop / define standard cloud migration KPIs / KCIs to track progress
  • Anticipate and identify additional architecture-related tooling needs and standards
  • Oversee meta-model and metadata management requirements
  • Monitor processes to ensure completeness and quality of critical metadata; Provide guidance to enhance processes as needed
  • Interface with senior management across the US for the various functions to ensure an integrated approach across all aspects of data architecture
  • Proactively share data architecture best practices and expectations across the US

  • 5 years of hands-on experience with developing business-focused logical data models and architecture for large financial institutions 
  • Knowledge and experience of IT vendors and products working in the data management and architecture space
  • Knowledge and experience of data management processes and tools
  • Understanding of meta-model and metadata management requirements
  • Previous experience or understanding of cloud security and data sharing best practices
  • Experience with the managing of a data inventory, relating to compliance requirements
  • Working experience in an agile environment
  • Necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others’ wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • A good knowledge of a large global organization and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable
  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Able to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented
  • Strong problem-solving skills
