As the Graduate Program Manager, you will own the delivery of end to end recruitment processes for Summer Interns and Graduates in addition running the development aspects of the Summer Internship and Graduate Program.

Under the direction of the U.S. Head of Graduate Recruitment & Development, this role is primarily responsible for the management of the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the GBM Internship and Graduate Programs to provide a continual pipeline of high potential individuals for future leadership roles in the organization.

This is a highly visible role that will give you the opportunity to partner with HR leaders, senior business leaders, the Global Graduate Team, university faculty and students. The Early Careers space touches many of our key strategic pillars including our dedication to diversity and inclusion, raising brand awareness and future skills.

Here’s what you can expect day-to-day.

As the Graduate Program Manager, you will:

  • Work closely with the recruitment team to handle the attraction and selection process for the program
  • Lead performance, development and placement of participants in our Summer Intern and Graduate Program for GBM. Develop and conduct robust training and development opportunities for those within the internship and Graduate cohorts to support program success.
  • Ensure program design aligns with pertinent overall strategies, be it at a country, regional, global business or global function level. Ensure alignment with other management training programs.
  • Serve as HR Business Partner for all GBM Graduate and Summer Intern program participants, ensuring career development resources are being used, providing direction to increase success. Mentor program participants on an individual basis to support their success in the program and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with HR and business partners to run rotational programs
  • Collaborate with Performance & Reward team to drive performance management process for GBM Graduates; collaborate with HR Advisors and Employee Relations regarding any employee relations issues
  • Partner closely with global and regional Graduate Development teams to craft and implement training programs for Summer Internship and Graduate Program
  • Meet regularly with business management to ensure the graduate program design is aligned with the strategy, direction and needs of the area; program design includes rotations, classroom training, individualized mentoring and leadership opportunities. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand.

  • 3-5 years’ campus recruitment and/or Junior Generalist HR experience (ideally within a Professional Services or global Financial Services environment, preferably a front office business area)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel) / Advance Excel is advantageous (pivots/charts); experience with HR systems / databases; GTI a plus.
  • A “can-do” demeanor; highly motivated and able to optimally multi-task in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Solid attention to detail; strong communication, writing and verbal presentation skills with the ability to collaborate closely with partners at various levels of management
  • Motivating Change and Innovation: Motivated to further develop HSBC’s undergraduate recruitment and rotation processes
  • Flexibility to work some evening hours during peak seasons for events
