Description

Position Summary

The Head of Market Access (HMA) will be an experienced veteran (15+ years) of the biopharmaceutical industry with extensive expertise in all elements of reimbursement, including strong proficiency in physician administer products. Responsibilities will include all aspects of reimbursement strategic planning and execution. In addition to leading internal collaborations and planning, the HMA will also be the primary point of contact with external stakeholders including national and regional payers (commercial and government), managed care organizations, group purchasing organizations, integrated delivery networks, policy makers, regulators, advocacy groups and relevant trade/professional associations. As products near commercialization, the HMA will be responsible for recruiting, building and leading a reimbursement team which achieves Revance's market access objectives. The HMA is a critical member of the senior leadership team at Revance.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement payer access strategies inclusive of coding, coverage and payment of Revance products
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with national and regional payers (commercial and government), managed care organizations, group purchasing organizations, integrated delivery networks, policy makers, regulators, advocacy groups and relevant trade/professional associations
  • Develop Health Economics Outcomes Research strategy to drive internal initiatives that increase access and reimbursement
  • Lead internal collaboration efforts related to the development of payer-evidence tools including product Dossier and product overview/value story presentations
  • Develop and maintain systems for the reporting of activities and results related to payer access and provider reimbursement
  • Monitor and track competitive environment and evolving market access trends to refine product launch strategies and tactics
  • Monitor Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reimbursement policies and keep abreast of trends in reimbursement and health policy that affect Revance products and the markets in which they compete.
  • Recruit and lead market access teams as required for reimbursement success of Revance products
  • Oversight of HUB services and patient support programs
  • Budget management for corporate-wide market access and reimbursement initiatives
  • Delivery of detailed presentations to senior leadership regarding payer access


Education

BA/BS Required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive biopharmaceutical experience in a variety of areas including sales, sales leadership, marketing, market access, managed care marketing, payer support, pricing and reimbursement, and payer policy
  • Extensive experience (6+ years) developing and executing market access and reimbursement strategies for biopharmaceutical products
  • Current relationships/contacts with 3rd party payers (commercial & government payers), distribution and trade, physician networks, and healthcare systems
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Part B buy and bill reimbursement, ASP rules/regulations, and execution of calculating ASP
  • Experience utilizing HEOR research to develop cost-effectiveness arguments that drive payer adoption
  • Ability to analyze and understand health policy trends from the perspective of multiple stakeholders, and translate related business implications into business decisions and strategy
  • Experience translating clinical and health economic data into meaningful marketing messages

Minimum Required:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills to work with a variety of groups in ensuring that the strategic direction for market access and is aligned with both commercial and corporate goals
  • Strong leadership with proven ability to coach and develop staff as well as technical ability to coordinate functional business activities
  • Track record of success in leading and building strategic account focused teams in multi-channel settings, with strong existing customer relationships
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence and align at all levels of the organization
  • Must be effective working in a team environment with strong collaboration skills to gain alignment
  • Product launch experience


Preferred:
  • Experience and understanding of neuroscience/CNS disease categories is preferred
