Required License/Registration/Certification | Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire. |
Physical Requirements | May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. |
Shift | 1st shift; 7:00am – 7:00pm for 5 days, 7:00am – 5:30p for 2 days. |
Job Summary | Assists area leadership in administrative duties that may include managing and overseeing training of new employees, creating training schedules, developing and maintaining area specific training program and associated training materials. Creating and maintaining operational processes and SOPs that may include Pyxis delivery coordination, proper medication storage and delivery techniques. Other administrative tasks may include creation of staffing schedule for Technicians and Interns; managing Technician sick calls and arranging coverage as needed. Trains, coaches, and evaluates associates on performance expectations, and applies progressive discipline when appropriate. Provides regular communication to staff and assists with leading regular team meetings. Shall perform other miscellaneous job related tasks/activities as assigned by the supervising pharmacist. This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted. |

Preferred Education/Experience | Associate or bachelor’s degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred. |
