Responsibilities

The Reliability Model Developer supports the systems engineering and acquisition of a space/ground system through rigorous application of systems engineering, risk, and reliability engineering methods, tools and processes in the performance of technical and programmatic mission assurance activities on satellite, ground equipment and facilities. Specific responsibilities include:

- Manage a system availability program plan, integrating modeling, simulation, analysis, and test data that integrates reliability, maintainability, and availability inputs from segment inputs.

- Manage system quality, system mission assurance, system safety, and the system processes, including the System Test Plan, the System Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) Plan, the System Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), the System Reliability Plan, and the System Safety Plan.

- Identify, manage, and/or resolve variances, deviations or waivers, with supporting documentation substantiating the need for the variance, and technical and programmatic issues/risks.

- Support documenting flight software anomalies and failures.

- Manage and deliver a list of each item that can critically impact the reliability of system items, integrating inputs from the developers.

- Provide reliability reports as required integrating inputs from developers

- Lead a system assurance program plan to monitor processes, certifications, and verification standards used across the system, and to establish measures of effectiveness for quality assurance, including safety, reliability engineering, hardware and software quality, and supplier quality.

The Reliability Model Developer analyzes aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.


Qualifications

- Requires 16+ years with BS/BA or 14+ years with MS/MA or 10+ years with Ph.D.

- Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible professional engineering/scientific experience.

- Experience and knowledge in reliability and mission assurance policies, processes, and procedures.
