Qualifications

Required programming experience: 2-4 years with BS/BA or 1-2 years with MS/MA in a sci ence/engineering field. Minimum of 1 year hydrodynamic modeling software experience (academia or commercial) required.
Desired Experience & Skills
Demonstrated experience in hydrodynamic modeling - specifically model installation, compilation, simulation setup , and initiali zati on. Preferred systems: Delft 3D, COAWST , and/or ADCIRC.
Must currently possess a DoD SECRET security clearance, or be SECRET clearance eligible .
Experience in high performance computing.
Programming language experience with Python .
Programming language experience with Matlab.
Programming language experience with Fortran.
Version Control : Mercurial or Git
OS: Windows and Linux
Secondary/Optional skills
Practical experience with meteorology, oceanography , littoral sediment transport , numerical modeling, coastal and nearshore morphology .

Responsibilities

Perform basic and applied research leading to advanced technology development, demonstration, and validation efforts focusing on the physical, mechanical , and acoustical properties of seafloor, estuarine, and riverine sediments. The position will focus on using deterministic and probabilistic models to simulate nearshore hydro- and morphodynamics. Experience in Delft3D-FM, high performance computing, Matlab and Python is highly desired.
