1. Responsible for the design and delivery of reporting dashboards to meet complex business needs, and the design and execution of complex analytics workflows including basic data science techniques.

2. Requires a high level of knowledge to create and deliver value by working with data, which includes the creation or capture of data, and the creation of new assets through the combination of new and existing data assets, specifically querying data from multiple sources and using ETL processes to transform and optimize data for analytics.

3. Provides an end-to-near-end high touch and insightful analytics service to departmental analysts and data users who may derive the last mile of business value from data, but also provides an end-to-end Analytics service to business functions without Analytics capacity, to senior management who require cross-functional data, and to cross-functional data initiatives.

4. Lead the end-to-end process of reporting dashboard design and delivery for new dashboards, including the capture of user requirements, dashboard design, and dashboard build and deployment. Provide analyses and apply results to improve business operations.

5. Create new data assets with cross-functional value through the capture, creation, or combination of data; and ensure that these are appropriately catalogued and discoverable within OUP.

6. Resolve the most complex and challenging data analysis requested by the business, including basic predictive modelling, statistical analysis, and machine learning. Perform an extensive range and variety of complex technical and/or professional work activities. Undertake work which requires the application of fundamental principles in a wide and often unpredictable range of contexts. Issues require sophisticated analytical or problem-solving techniques.

7. Design and develop highly complex reports and analysis. Produce analytic workflows, with analysis as required, and test, troubleshoot, and approve analytic workflows produced by BI analysts. Advise on the available standards, procedures, methods, tools, and techniques, and with stakeholders, select the most appropriate approach to meet business need.

8. Organize and lead meetings with business stakeholders, technical and cross-functional project teams. Engage and coordinate with subject matter experts to resolve complex issues as they relate to customer/organizational requirements. Understand the relationships between own specialism and customer/organizational requirements. Coach & train junior analysts.

  • Discipline expert. Educated in data science or a related numerate field, or significant experience in a BI/reporting/analytics/data science role.
  • Strong consultancy, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent numerical, statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert-level experience of data reporting and analytics including SQL.

Position Location: This position is in a hybrid model in Cary, NC.
