Senior Software/Hardware Performance Research Engineer

Qualifications Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
- Strong C/C++ and Python programming expertise
- Familiarity with VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog
- Knowledge of code synthesis, code translation, and electronic design automation (EDA)
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures for efficient pattern matching in software / hardware implementations
- Knowledge of formal software and hardware verification
- Experience in system and hardware reverse engineering
- Experience in developing and optimizing compilers
- Experience in static software analysis (Ghidra, BinaryNinja, IDA) and script/plugin development
- Experience in dynamic software analysis
- Track record of building high quality software
- Working knowledge of modern development practices and toolsets (Git, CI/CD toolchains)
- Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Active Secret Clearence required.
- (Top Secret preferred, SCI eligibility strongly preferred)
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related scientific/engineering discipline
Other Relevant Skills (not required, but any are a plus):- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, platforms and internals
- Experience with DevOps and Agile development methodologies
- Experience in the U.S. DoD/IC research community
Responsibilities We are looking for candidates with a strong interest in computer performance research and development for full-time positions in our Cyber Security research group.
Candidates will work with teams to research, conceive, and develop prototypes, and should be adept at identifying successful approaches to complex problems. Our projects span several areas of interest, including (but not limited to):
- Full-spectrum cyber operations, including CND, CNE, CNA, and CNO.
- Program analysis, including program understanding, vulnerability identification, and remediation
- Software and hardware reverse engineering
- Static and dynamic binary analysis
- Autonomous agent development
Senior Research Engineers play leadership roles on teams that design, implement, and test research prototypes and software systems aimed at solving cutting-edge research problems. Senior Research Engineers are expected to work independently in a collaborative technical environment and provide technical leadership, including mentoring junior staff members; creativity and initiative are a plus.
